Object description

Location / Access / Distances

The property is situated in the Chilean Central Valley 495 km south of the capital Santiago and 20 km north of the capital of Bio Bio Province of Los Angeles. You can access on a gravel road 2 km east from Pan-American Highway. Passing the gate you follow 600 meters a sandy private road down to the houses. All access roads are usable also in winter.

Development

Gravel roads go from the parking area to the houses. Satellite-TV, wireless Internet and optimal cellular phone reception are available. There is a private drinking water spring. Calefaction and cooking is done with firewood, there is also gas (cylinders) for hot water and cooking. The guest rooms and the separate lodge cabin are heated with electricity. Waste water is cleaned bacterially.

Building / Rooms / Technical installations

There are 4 houses and a workshop on the property. The main house offers a large open area as living, dining room and kitchen (100 m²), a bathroom (9 m²) with shower/bathtub, a sleeping room (17 m²) and an office (25 m²). On the second floor of the directly connected second house are 2 doubles and 1 single (36 m²) with shared bath (7 m², shower), which is down on the first floor beside a large open area. Beside the main house there are two other doubles in a smaller house (each 16 m²) with private baths (each 7 m², showers). 200 meters north is a cottage (41 m²) with his own electricity, water and gas system.
All buildings are constructed in 1990 and permanently maintained. Principally pine wood is used, but also beech for windows and doors and cedar for open roof supporting beems, inside without any treatment. Roofs are all thatched with zinc, but first isolated against humidity. The main house is founded on 30 ctm of concrete to protect against humidity also; the other houses have wooden floors based on concrete stamps. All bathrooms are built with concrete walls, covered with tiles. Living, dining room and kitchen in the main house have ceramic floors; all other rooms have waxed wooden ones.

Equipment

Generally all furniture can be overtaken by the new owner. Furniture is quite simple and functional, because of the huge library there a lot of bookshelves. In the guestrooms there are rattan beds with excellent mattresses und sheep wool blankets, baggage stores and shelves. All rooms have large windows with curtains. Chairs and dishes are mostly from rattan, in the main kitchen there is a large beech dish for 12 persons.
The cottage (41 m²) offers a living (12 m²), a kitchen (10 m²) incl. freezer, gas stove and sink unit and two dormitories (each 8 m²) with totally six beds. Outside on the west you find two terraces (20 m² each), one under roof, the other one with BBQ area.

Note

All the 2 hectares property is strictly ecologically managed, since 20 years without any chemical products. The southern border is formed by a beautiful small river. Before the houses were built nobody else ever lived here. Over all these years plenty of different new planted trees, bushes and flowers grow up, for example Monkey Puzzles, Eucalyptus, Lime Trees, Oaks, Beeches, Elms, Pines. Poplars, Birches, Qillayes and Alders, so as Boldo, Canelo, Arrayan, Litre etc. Our fruit trees give us apples, peaches, plums, apricots und cherries; we also harvest raspberries, blackberries and other ones.
