Object description

Location / Access / Distances

Between riverside of the Ibáñez river (main tributary of Lake General Carrera/ Buenos Aires, second largest lake of South America), and steep, rocky walls.
Access from Puerto Ing. Ibáñez, approximately 15 km of good gravel road, 3 km precarious road, then 25 minutes hiking (a path for vehicles could be built).
Otherwise, the property can also be reached over the river (raft or boat), access from the other shore to the paved road possible.
Altitude: 339 m. a. s. l.

Topography

Mainly plain area, almost half of it is swampy; could be dried out.
Slopes partly steep, up to the rock face.
A creek coming down here is ideal for building a turbine (electricity).
Ibáñez river is slow flowing at this spot, trouts and salmons existing.

Vegetation

Nothofagus forest near riverside and further inland.
Grassy plains, very fertile.
Swamp vegetation, on slopes more steppe vegetation.
The climate is very mild at this place, almost no snow or temperatures beneath freezing point (microclimate).

Note

All the pictures were taken in late fall; that's why the trees are not green.
