Help for people affected by earthquake in Talca

At 3:34 AM on February 27 the Central-Southern region of Chile was struck by a 8.8 magnitude quake (according to the U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center), followed by a tsunami. The epicenter was located in the coastal region between the cities of Concepción and Talca.

Talca, the capital city of the Region of Maule was strongly impacted by the earthquake. The business and economic downtown is mostly destroyed and it is estimated that 90% of old houses have been damaged and close to 50 – 75% would need to be demolished. There is a significant number of people who have lost their homes completely to the disaster.

After immediate help reached all places affected, efforts now focus on repairing homes that were damaged or replacing those that were destroyed. The rainy season is expected to begin early April and there is an important number of families that have no place to stay.

Our Help

vivest group is located in Talca, directly in the area affected by the earthquake. We were fortunate and we are fine, as well as our relatives and friends, and unlike many other people, especially those who have lower income.

Donations transferred to us are used to help families affected in Talca as to rebuild their homes. Money donated and received in out banking accounts is used to buy construction material tools, and basic needs elements, such as, gas stoves, beds, etc., elements which are directly given to people who lost their homes with an attempt to provide only what is really needed. This means that all the help is completely on our hands. We do not provide help by giving money to people.
Our efforts are being done in cooperation with Trekkingchile Foundation, where Mr. Christoph Wander is member of its Board of Directors.

Your help in way of donation is very welcome.
